Founder and Principal, Continued Success Foundation


As Principal of the Continued Success Foundation (CSF)© Bob Simmons contributes as a sustainable policy and program advisor, vision master, speaker, researcher, team-builder, facilitator, and futurist. The purpose of CSF is to create and promote the “value-supported behavior change” necessary for achieving the kind of success that can be continued. Bob grew up in the hardwood forests of Illinois, where he learned to love and understand nature.  Receiving his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Bradley University and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in theoretical physics, he worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for 22 years as Senior Policy and Program Advisor or Director of several new programs in the EPA including Environmental Noise Control, Radiation Control, Pollution Prevention, and the Analytic Center. These experiences included developing major innovative connections with the policies and programs of other federal agencies, state and local governments, and both the national and international private sector. During his tenure he was awarded the EPA’s highest national honor, the Gold Medal for Exceptional Service.


Bob has served as a Sustainable Policy Advisor to the American Institute of Architects and as Chairperson to their Strategic Advisory Group on the Environment (SAGE). An initiator of the “Greening the White House” Project, he served as Chairperson of the White House policy group incorporating “Cultural Change and the Human Factor.” He also served as the Sustainable Policy Advisor for the Earth Centre, the world headquarters for the Earth Council, under development in Costa Rica.


Bob is a member of the Board of Directors for Rock the Planet and is Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Learning for Living Institute—both educational non-profits focusing on young people. He is a Visiting Fellow with the Center for Values and Social Policy at the University of Colorado, and provides vision and strategic support for the Golden, Colorado national Field Office of the U.S. Department of Energy, Safe Water Systems, Bridging the Gap, About Change Institute, Circles of Ten:  Women for World Peace, E-Town Productions, Collage Children’s Museum, Barrett Studio Architects and others.  Bob is writing a book titled: Continued Success: Creating a Sustainable Future.© Through his life’s work, he does his part to help human beings get along better with one another and with the planet. He lives in Boulder with his enthusiastic wife Sarah, and two incredible Ainu dogs, Ramat and Pirka.
